CEREBROLYSIN - 60 mg

Cerebrolysin is a multi-modal, neurotrophic peptide preparation derived from highly purified porcine (pig) brain proteins. It consists of low-molecular-weight neuropeptides and free amino acids. It is unique because it mimics the body's natural neurotrophic factors (like BDNF and NGF), meaning it actively supports the survival, repair, and growth of brain cells.

Primary Uses

Cerebrolysin is clinically used (primarily in Europe and Asia) to improve the brain's ability to self-repair following injury or neurodegeneration. Its main indications include:

  • Stroke Recovery: Accelerates functional and motor recovery after ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes.

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): Helps repair neural pathways following concussions, contusions, or neurosurgery.

  • Dementia: Used to improve cognitive performance, memory, and mood in patients with Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, or mixed dementia.

Clarifying "Reconstitution" (Important Note)

Crucial Fact: Genuine, pharmaceutical-grade Cerebrolysin does not require reconstitution.

Unlike many other peptides that come as a freeze-dried (lyophilized) white powder, authentic Cerebrolysin is always manufactured and distributed as a ready-to-use, clear amber aqueous solution sealed in glass ampoules or vials (typically in 2 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, or 50 ml sizes).

If you have a dry powder labeled as Cerebrolysin, it is highly likely a third-party, unregulated copy rather than the official pharmaceutical product made by EVER Pharma.

How It Is Handled and Prepared

Because it is already a liquid, "preparation" instead refers to whether it needs to be diluted for administration:

  • For Small Doses (Up to 5 mL): It is typically given undiluted via deep Intramuscular (IM) injection.

  • For Medium Doses (Up to 10 mL): It can be given undiluted via slow Intravenous (IV) push (administered slowly over about 3 minutes).

  • For Large Doses (10 mL to 50 mL): It must be diluted for an IV infusion. To do this:

    1. Clean the vial stopper or carefully break the glass ampoule.

    2. Draw up the liquid using a sterile syringe.

    3. Inject it into a 100 mL infusion bag of standard carrier solution—typically 0.9% Normal Saline, Ringer’s solution, or 5% Glucose.

    4. Administer the IV infusion slowly over 15 to 60 minutes.

Basic Safety & Storage Info

  • Immediate Use: Because Cerebrolysin contains no preservatives, an ampoule or vial must be used immediately after opening. Any leftover liquid must be discarded and cannot be saved for later.

  • Storage: Keep it at room temperature (under 25°C or 77°F). Do not freeze it, and protect it from direct sunlight.

  • Contraindications: It should not be used by individuals with severe kidney impairment or those who suffer from epilepsy/frequent seizures.
